Development Consent
The project originally obtained Development Consent from the NSW Planning Assessment Commission on 30 March 2016.
In September 2017, an application was submitted to modify the project’s Development Consent. The project modification was required to enable optimum development, efficient operation and, competitively priced power to be provided into the National Electricity Market. Development consent for the modification was obtained from the NSW Independent Planning Commission on 10 December 2018.
The Development Consent sets out conditions that must be complied with in undertaking the project. The conditions cover construction, operation, decommissioning, administrative, and community enhancement matters.
The project document can be found on the NSW Department of Planning and Environment Major Project Register under the name Yass Valley Wind Farm.
In December 2017, CWFPL submitted a referral to the Department of Environment and Energy under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The referral was approved with conditions on 12 November 2018.
